“Working with Jenny over the past three years has completely transformed my approach to singing and performing.” Angela Clarke – Singer/Songwriter & PhD Candidate
“When I came to see Jenny, she was my last hope. I was sceptical. [However,] after three months, I was cured of my debilitating pain. I had my life back. I am forever indebted to her wonderful work.” Julie Kessel
Jenny has been using the Alexander Technique to help people reduce pain and improve performance since 1996. Jenny works with individuals in the Melbourne suburbs of Bentleigh and North Fitzroy, and also runs workshops for schools, corporations and performers throughout Melbourne. She is the Assistant Director of the School for F.M. Alexander Studies (in Fitzroy, Melbourne), where students undertake a three year, full-time course in order to become qualified Alexander Technique teachers.
Private students often come to Jenny with pain which other treatments have not been able to resolve. Back and neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and voice loss are some of the main conditions which Jenny’s students come to her for help.
Musicians and actors come to Jenny to improve their performance. These students are attracted by Jenny’s ability to apply the Alexander Technique principles to performance because of her background as a professional opera singer, tertiary studies in the clarinet, and experience teaching performance students at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melba Conservatorium of Music.
Jenny completed her Alexander Teacher Training course in 1996 and is a full member of the Australian Alexander Technique professional association – AUSTAT.
